Update: I’m about halfway

Update: I’m about halfway through my music collection in iTunes, and my playlist for this year’s summer cruising is currently about 260 songs long. When I get through all my music, I expect that number to jump to around 400, and then I'll whittle it down to 20 or so for a one-CD playlist.

Is it weird that I am this excited about making a playlist? Yes, but I’m OK with that.

I think I’ve already got

I think I’ve already got one possibility for an addition to the list: “Getting Better” by The Beatles. What could make a day brighter than the Fab Four letting you know that things are on the way up?

A couple of other songs that have recently popped up in my mind for consideration on the summer playlist are “Lloyd, I’m ready to be Heartbroken” by Camera Obscura and “Beautiful Day” by U2. And I’m thinking I should include an Elvis Costello song and maybe on by The Jam.

I think maybe I’ll make it a double CD this year.

You can never go wrong with Eric Clapton.

One of the best songs ever - no doubt in my top five of all-time.
Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7_Ldy1XDOU

Remember, "It's in the way that you use, boy don't you know."

Moped Day is for everyone,

Moped Day is for everyone, not just Wisconsinites. I know people who celebrated in Alaska, Texas, Illinois, and California this year. And it’s spreading – the more people who celebrate and tell their friends, the bigger the holiday will become.

I'd be happy to organize a Jordan rally if I was able to find someplace to store my Vino here in town.

I loved taking trips to the M and on the back roads around it. Those can be fun trips, especially on a warm summer night just as the sun is setting. Wonderful!

Is moped day limited to

Is moped day limited to P-ville? I would have fired up my Stella (with sidecar) and ripped around Jordan using this new found holiday as an excuse, but I found out about it after the 4th. I probably could have even borrowed you the '88 honda elite that I used to scoot around UW-P 10 years ago. I'm sure it's even been out to the M a few times in it's life. You'll have to organize a Jordan rally.

Nice work on the holiday and last years camera footage.

Brandon, looking into the

Brandon, looking into the future as you encourage here, has me wondering the dates Spirit Hill Memorial Day Services are scheduled this year. I have missed twice since 1930 (by pass surgery, Luzon) and God Willing (you know how it goes at my age) would like to make plans to be there again this year. From the standpoint, over the years, of respecting and honoring its Veterans and observing Memorial Day, Jordan stands with the tallest boys in the class.

Yep, the days are cooling off, school's about to start, and some of us need to make sure we don't let summer slip away without accomplishing our chores. I, for one have a lot to do in the next month.

I saw a flock of geese this morning, flying south! Have we officially passed the dog-days of summer and moved into the geese-flying-south days of fall and winter? That’s just not right.

Ha! Our fantasy draft is at

Ha! Our fantasy draft is at the end of August, so I don't have a team yet. There’s no doubt that Green Bay’s best player (that’d be No. 4 Brett Favre) will be drafted, but he won’t be drafted by me. I’ll make sure to have one or two Packers on my team, but I’m leaning toward another Wisconsin hero for my quarterback position – Wisconsin native and Cowboy’s quarterback Tony Romo.

You say: "Forget all this

You say: "Forget all this baseball garbage."

I say: No way.

You say: "Will the Vikings improve ... ? ... no ..."

I say: We can't get any worse.

You say: The lowly Packers will beat the Vikings twice.

I say: Fat chance.

You say: "... that’s probably just the lifelong fan in me thinking wishfully."

I say: Yep. Right on. Go Twins.

It would be a big surprise if the project did not happen. This is the question: When? To that, we have no answer yet. Be patient, friends.
