Fightin' words, eh? How many Pro Bowlers did the Pack have last year? It's pretty much universal law that the so-called green and gold weren't the best at any particular position last year.

And you might not want to brag about Driver being the 11th-best fantasy pick at wide receiver. If he goes in your first round, it's a wasted pick. I'd take Randy Moss before Driver.

Well, in my family league

Well, in my family league the Packers aren’t really sleeper picks. The big names – QB Brett Favre and WR Donald Driver – will go relatively early in the OFL draft, and I’d say Driver is the best pick on the team. But as far as a sleeper pick from the Green and Gold, I think there are two main choices: the defense and WR Greg Jennings.

Of course, any Packer you pick would be a better draft selection than a Viking of the same position (with the possible exception of running back).

I neglected to post that my season ended a few weeks ago. Our team won one game by default when the other team couldn’t field the required number of players. My teammates are starting a fall league tonight, but I’m not on the team this time – I’ve got to devote my attention to the Otte Fantasy Football League that begins at the end of this month.

Here's an update: Apparently, I am worse than I thought. I was 6-for-7 with eight runs scored. Still a good day, though.

The scores were 23-17 in the loss and 13-9 in the win.

You're like the coaches who don't report the bad stuff their team did.

By the way, an injury is a good way to get out of playing. Yeah, go with the sore arm thing. That always goes over well. Or you could be a man and buy a couple of rounds of batting practice at Grand Slam in Eagan.

I’m not posting a story

I’m not posting a story about my softball team this week because we lost badly, too. I didn’t play and I wasn’t able to go to the game, but I found out the score and it wasn’t pretty at all. The worst part, I was told, was that the other team rubbed it in.

I also share your problem in not being patient. I routinely swing at the first pitch that comes my way, and I pop out almost every time. I think I also hurt my arm during my last game.

Tie your shoelaces together or light your shoes on fire. Both are time-honored practical jokes in baseball and would transfer over very well to softball.
