"Minus the medication" - that was good.

Brandon, all I can say is ....
"Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose."

That's not from me, but from Master Yoda.

You mean reaching that time when Brett Favre will finally retire? I don't know. He seems to have the Roger Clemens syndrome, minus the medication.

Yeah, I know that it

Yeah, I know that it shouldn’t matter to me as much as it does. I know it’s only a game and it really doesn’t matter at all in the long run. But I can’t quite make that true for me – not yet anyway. Maybe at some point in my life I’ll reach that goal. Any tips for reaching that point?

I can sort of relate to the

I can sort of relate to the Packer fans' pain.

Back in 1988, the Vikings were in the playoffs and heavy underdogs against the Saints and 49ers. But the Vikings won both games to face Washington in the NFC Championship game.

Now I was a Viking fan then, but not at the level of some you Packer rubes. Anyway, I was in the Marines at the time, so I was the only Viking fan around. And I was talking trash as I my team won two playoff games.

Then, in the NFC title game, the Vikings lost 17-10. Who remembers the 4th down play where Disco Darrin Nelson dropped the ball near the end zone to end the game and the Vikes' Super Bowl hopes.

Well, I can't begin to tell you how much crap I took after that loss. Not only did the Vikings' lose, but I had to took a beating from the guys from it.

From that day forward, I promised myself I would invest that much into a team anymore. And to this day, I haven't.

I'm a big Twins fan but when they lose - especially in the playoffs recently - I don't lose an ounce of sleep. It's just a game. There's no reason to get that emotionally attached to it. There's no reason to go into a bunker and hide.

I'm no longer a Vikings' fan. I could give a rip if they ever win another game. I'm a Browns fan now. When the Vikes' lost in the NFC title game in 1998, after a 15-1 season, again it didn't bother me in the least. Meanwhile, I thought my sister was going to need therapy.

Now, you must be wondering if I can enjoy the highs and lows of rooting for a team? Yes. Absolutely. But there's no way I'm gonna sulk, cry or go into a bunker and not watch ESPN if my team loses.

It's just a game. There's always another season. As Brooklyn Dodger fans used to say in the 1950s, "Wait until next year!"

(And that was a horrible throw by Lord Brett Favre in overtime! Maybe, it's time Brett. Maybe, it's time).

My gut reaction is just as

My gut reaction is just as sad. I curse under my breath, question the coaching, wonder what ________ (name your player) was thinking when they ___________(name your poison), and eat.

In my mind, it's OK to do what we do, practically living and dying by our beloved sports teams, as long as we keep at the front of our minds that it's really not that important.

No matter how many times I hear this, I still nod and then shrug it off: It's just a game. But it's true. It's just a silly game made up by people who need a diversion from the more stressful parts of life.

Win or lose, enjoy the game. This from a guy who watches the Twins, Vikings, Wild, and Timberwolves and has during the past year seen more losses this year than wins ...

Actually, the Packers will be going Bowl-less this year.

Just as the Vikings shouldn't have gotten to the playoffs, the Packers weren't meant for the Super Bowl. It's better that way. Saves embarrassment. The Giants will be the ones who make or break the Patriots' perfect season.

Come playoff time, the hottest teams -- not necessarily the best ones -- win.

You know, I didn’t want to

You know, I didn’t want to be the first to comment on my post, but I’ve got a question: Where’s the love for the Packers?

Ever since Green Bay’s record-breaking win against San Diego, all the news coverage has focused on how the Chargers are lost, how the Chargers can turn it around, or how the Chargers failed to win the game. Why no love for Favre and the Pack? Good teams find a way to win games, and that’s what Green Bay did. I was excited after the win because it meant I could finally hear some news about my team (they did beat a Super Bowl favorite, after all, and are 3-0 against playoff teams from last year). Then there was nothing about the Packers.

To get away from Green Bay, they do the same thing all the time with any other team from the Midwest. We’re small-market in Wisconsin and Minnesota, so the bigger story is always going to be how the big team failed to win the game. Come on!

I didn't use a tripod or a flash. The light was bright enough to not need the flash. I didn't do any Photoshop editing, either, but I would certainly try to get some of orange color out of the picture.

I could be wrong, since I am a student and almost always is, but is that nightsnow photo on a tripod without a flash?? To me it looks that way, and it seems the only way to get that type of photo, And also, did you photoshop it at all? Just wondering... the orange is very strong and some could be taken out.
