Kudos to you for utilizing available technology to keep a small town newspaper dynamic and interactive!

My grandfather owned a small town Minnesota newspaper for decades, and both of his children became professional journalists. The field has changed SO much! I remember playing with typeset boxes as a kid...and now I get to watch my dad play with his Blackberry to keep up on the latest scoops.

It was inevitable that I too become a news junkie. Thank you for making The Jordan Independent so accessible.

That’s good news about the library, but the facility is still in need of a few upgrades and I hope it will get them soon.

This article by Mathias Baden clearly demonstrates how and why a 'small town' (forgive me)newspaper out shines the 'big city' rags and the vital role played in our community. What a wonderful history our forefathers have left behind and what strong roots they have planted. It is Mathias' writings such as these, that dig out our great traditions. As one of the highlights of my year (and for the last 75), I have looked forward to the Memeorial Day Services at Spirit Hill. With the Iraqi War churning on, it has suddenly become fashionable for communities to pay homage to to those who serve and have served in the Military. 'It is altogether fitting and proper that we do this'. Jordan has been doing this for, I would guess, almost 100 years. No new discovery here. And, if I can continue to borrow some one else's words, Jordan clearly demonstrates that our Military has 'not served or died in vain'.
