R. W. Johnson
Those attending the Memorial Day services were not disappointed by the speakers, the JHS Band nor the weather. I for one, was delighted with the program and the bueatiful weather (sometimes we fall a bit short on that). Amazing was the large turnout by Fire Department and Veterans. They do their duty, often with few thanks and less praise. As I said before, and it bears repeating, When it comes to the Memorial Day Services, Jordan is the 'tallest boy in the class'. On this day, I also consumed enough Pekarna Sausage to provide lunch for the entire Army for one day. (Well maybe, with restricted 'seconds'). Well done Jordan.

R. W. Johnson - The Jordan

R. W. Johnson - The Jordan Community, the Veterans who have and are serving their Country and those who participate in, plan and organize these Services are to be commended for their devotion to country demonstrated so well on this Memorial Day. Not all communities can/will/do put forth the effort and not all communities enjoy such wide participation year after year. If you consider the services, the many who participate and the Community Support you will recognize that on this day each year, Jordan is the tallest boy in the class. Appropriate respect is shown those who have and are serving their country by Citizen and verteran alike. Thank You, Jordan.

I’m not always a fan of team-building games, but these actually seem pretty cool. And that obstacle course looks like it would be a lot of fun.

I have known Burdette Stief

I have known Burdette Stief for many years. I worked for him doing all type of "farm" chores out at the drop zone location. I used to mow and would stop and watch everytime those planes would fly over. They had drop zone locations out in the middle of the pasture and would regually place that large, and I mean large pallet right in the middle of the target.

I also remember the time me and Burdette were in the barn doing some stall cleaning and we heard a large thump and the ground shook. We went outside the office area of the barn and found the pallet to be about 2 feet from the barn, I would say they missed the target on that one, but that might have been the only one they missed.

I do have to agree, it will be missed over Jordan. They have been flying for years, and it seemed everytime they came over Jordan, you stopped what you were doing and just watched.

I hope everyonce in awhile they take a little detour and fly over.....you know I just had an idea. For $2,800 a month, I have a little room in my backyard for a target.

Nuts. I'll miss them. They fly almost directly over my home, and I've always enjoyed seeing them. They also served as a reminder to me how lucky I am that our military is ready to protect our country.

934th and 133rd, keep the formation close, and Godspeed wherever you fly.

We would like to thank PFC Joshua Anderson, and his family, for their sacrifice for this country. As members of the Jordan community, we are thankful, appreciative and proud of Josh's service. While words cannot convey our sympathies, know that we are thinking and praying for your family during this difficult time. May you always cherish the memories of your husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Our son called from Iraq

Our son called from Iraq Sunday morning and told us of the death of one of his highest regarded friends, Pfc. Josh Anderson. Our son is serving in Iraq in the same platoon as Pfc. Anderson out of Fort Stewart and had both their birthdays and the state of Minnesota in common. He told me Josh was like a parent to the others in the platoon. Not only was he the medic, he did the little things parents do, like having the chapstick or the throat lozenges to take care of the men in his platoon. My son wanted Pfc. Anderson's parents to know how much he was appreciated and how much he would be missed by his platoon.

My wife and I have the utmost respect for Pfc Anderson. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Private Anderson's wife and parents. God be with you.
