Brandon it's too bad you won't get to see The Hobbit... it is absolutely amazing! The pyrotechnics, fog, the set... it is beyond words. Josh and Jessica have outdone themselves as the directing team and the kids are great! Sorry you missed it-

Bill Maher is way funny, so is Jon Stewart.

"Seinfeld" always cracks me up, but my wife not so much. She prefers "Ugly Betty."

I like the way you summed up

I like the way you summed up your tastes in regard to Steve Martin.

My darling wife and I happened to have had a short discussion on the same topic last night. We worked out on the elliptical while watching "The Family Guy," which she loves.

"I can see why you like that show so much," I said.

"No, you don't," she said.

"How do you know?" I retorted.

I'm trying a few new things lately, such as buying my wife "Blue Harvest," a "The Family Guy" knockoff of "Star Wars." In the past, I would've shunned such a purchase, but I figure I might like it if I try it.

By the way, at the library today, I checked out season three of "Futurama." I've never seen it. Tonight's the night.

I’ve never seen it, and I like Tom Hanks, so I have reason to want to see it. But I was warned against the movie during high school by a youth pastor who hated it, so I never gave it a chance.

I’ve done both a Star Wars

I’ve done both a Star Wars (original flavor) and Indiana Jones straight-through marathon, as well as a Back to the Future straight-through marathon. I’ve even done a theatrical edition Lord of the Rings straight-through marathon. I’d like to hit up all three of the deluxe editions at a time, though.

My suggestion for the next marathon would be to link it to a certain director or producer. Like maybe Alfred Hitchcock or Martin Scorsese or the Coen brothers.

Or, heck, just do an actor or actress – but go with someone who always plays a small or bit part and who isn’t the star. How about a Clint Howard or John Turturro marathon?

You know, I have been telling myself for years that I am going to do the Star Wars straight through, but still haven't done it. Maybe one of these days when I have some free time....like the year 2050 when I am 75 years old and (hopefully) retired.

Would like also to do an Indiana Jones marathon, or a Lethal Weapon marathon, or a Rush Hour marathon, or a baseball movie marathon (Field of Dreams, Major League, Bull Durham, etc.)

It is called personal taste.

It is called personal taste. Maybe you don't like them, but there are, obviously, millions of people who do like these kinds of films and each person has their own reason. I enjoy watching them because I love the Saw storyline. It is a real storyline, a man loses his child and then wants revenge, but his revenge isn't like typical person's revenge, he wants to punish society has a whole.

You sit there and say that you haven't seen any of the Saw films, but then you blast them without knowing what you're talking about. Try watching the first one, you'll be surprised at how much gore is in the first one. I can only remember, at most, four scenes with gore.

I get so sick and tired of reading people's ignorant opinion of these films without ever watching them first. Take Hostel for example, it isn't promoting violence, but instead making fun of what Americans believe to be true in European countries. But all you've heard is what other people say about the film, which might or might not be true, but how can you judge a film without first seeing?

I'd give Saw IV 4.5 out of 5 stars. I give your ignorant post here 0 out of 5 stars. Try watching the film(s). You'll be surprised at how intelligent they really are.
