Brownton 150th Parade. I would say that the Brownton Sesquicentennial Celebration was a great success. I heard a lot of comments around town this weekend, how well the celebration went and how much everyone enjoyed it. Hats off to the committee and everyone else who worked so hard to put this event together. I can say that I was very proud to be a Brownton resident this past weekend. I have a slide show of the parade that was held on Sunday for those who want to see it again or those who were unable to attend. Enjoy...

Mini-Rods in Brownton. There was also a Mini-Rod pull held on Sunday in Brownton for the 150th Celebrations. I have a few pics for those that missed it. And yes that is the Mayor in a few of these pics(on the red one). He did a very good job of pulling. Enjoy, this was a fun event to see.

The Red Bulls are Home. I had the chance to take some video of the Welcome Home Ceremony for the Hutchinson Area National Guard troops that returned on Thursday July 19th. This area of Idaho is quite beautiful. It is just 3 hours over the mountain to Kalispell,MT(west entrance to Glacier Park). Most think of potatoes when they think of Idaho, but north Idaho is definitely not the ideal terrain to grow them. Southern Idaho is totally different, no mountains but more agriculture. Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed the pics. Coincidently, Dante's peak(with Pierce Brosnan) was filmed in the town right next to Kellogg called Wallace. I was visiting during some of the shooting of that film, it was pretty cool. Although in reality that mountain is not a volcano. A little movie trivia for you..

I’ve heard that Idaho is quite pretty. I guess I never thought of it as one of the prettier states, but your pictures sure make it look nice. Now I'm a little disappointed I didn't visit when I was traveling westward.

Silver Valley in Kellogg, Idaho is where these pics are from. This was another stop on our summer vacation this year. We were able to go on the world's longest gondola ride up the mountain. Although this was a 20-25 minute ride, you could go even farther on the regular ski lifts if you wanted. For those of you who know me, I stayed at the first stop while the rest went on to the peak. The pics are beautiful, but they are not mine. The heights were just a bit too much for me. Anyway, as you will see the kids did enjoy this....

The perfect cast!: The kids did a little fishing from the dock this weekend. Only one sunfish was caught, but they enjoy the fishing anyway. I must say that the casting skills by both are improving greatly. This year on vacation, I should be able to do more fishing myself, as the kids seem to be able to do most of the skills themselves now. I also caught my first Northern of the year, right before the rain hit on Saturday evening. That was fun, I always like a fish with fight. I have attached a fun pic for you to enjoy also.....
