"The ability to speak does

"The ability to speak does not make you intelligent, now get out of here."

- Qui-Gon Jinn, "Epsiode I: The Phantom Menace."

"The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural."

-Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious, "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith."

"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you."

- Master Yoda, "Epsiode I: The Phantom Menace."

"I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further."

- Darth Vader. "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back."

Yes, I do like Obi-Wan, but

Yes, I do like Obi-Wan, but Han Solo takes the cake for cool sayings in the movies.

"I have a bad feeling about this."
"Either I'm going to kill her or I'm beginning to like her."
"Laugh it up fuzzball."
"He's the brains, sweetheart."
"Chewy, take the Professor and hook him up to the hyperdrive."
"Never tell me the odds."
"That's great kid, now don't get cocky."
"Don't worry. She'll hold together...Hear me baby? Hold together."
"I'm out of it for a little while, and everyone gets delusions of granduer"
"You're all clear kid, now let's blow this joint and go home."

Then there is:
"I shall watch your career with great interest." - Palpatine in Episode 1.
"I'm a jedi, like my father before me." - Luke

"Someday your going to be wrong and I just hope I am there to see it." - Leia...and Leia's best line...."Why, you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking, nerfherder."
"Who's scruffy-looking?" - Han
"You said you wanted to be here when I made a mistake; this could be it sweetheart." - Han

The back-and-forth between Han and Leia was always great.

Oh, and its always the fool who follows is the most foolish.

Luke says, "I'll try."

Yoda replies . . .
"Do. Or do not. There is no try."

From the second Star Wars movie, I think.

Or how about, "Go ahead. Make my day." Oh wait, that's Dirty Harry.

Obi Wan is great, but the bigger fool is the fool who follows. At least the first fool is blazing his own trail.

It’s hard to pick a favorite line from those movies. There are so many good ones. Here are my favorites from just the first movie (with a little bit of help from IMDB):

The best Obi Wan line is, “In my experience, there’s no such thing as luck.”

And the line I quote the most is probably “These are not the droids you’re looking for.”

Han gets all the best one-liners, though: “Sorry about the mess,” “Boring conversation anyway,” “No reward is worth this.” If it wasn’t for Indiana Jones, Han Solo would easily be the coolest movie character ever.

OK, word nerds, time to

OK, word nerds, time to step aside.

I HATE when words are misspelled on purpose, which is why you will never see me spending my hard-earned money at businesses that try to be cute while perpetuating illiteracy (i.e. Kwik Trip, Hom Furniture).

I can't even misspell in text messages -- which drives my daughter batty and I get a couple messages a week reminding me: "Mom, u dnt have to spell evrythg out!"

Ouch, that hurt just to repeat it.

A friend of mine who is a brainiac and earned his Ph.D. by the time we had our 10-year high school reunion is afraid to send me e-mails because his spelling is not so stellar and he doesn't want me to take my red pen to his correspondence.

And if I have to pick a favorite type of word, I'd have to go with action verbs. And my favorite punctuation is the dash -- when used properly. I'm not so fond of exclamation points as they tend to be overkill.
