Well, I decided to use a mixture of recipes and freestyle with my meal tonight. I’m going with an Italian theme, and I’ll be making a white wine cream sauce, cheese puffs, rolls, zucchini and tomato salad, and chicken.

I’m hoping it will be a pretty good meal, but I’m a little worried about the idea of going it on my own for most of the meal. Hopefully Molly will enjoy it. She, by the way, gets to bring the dessert, and that’s going to be a surprise for me. I can’t wait!

I know I’ve said it already, but the pictures don’t really do the injury justice. It’s very difficult, as a right-handed person, to take a picture of two cuts on two fingers that aren’t really close to each other at all using only your left hand.

Rest assured, though, that the cuts still hurt mightily.

As a child, I fell off my bicycle (Dad let go!!!) and ended up with what I thought at the time were war wounds. I ran into the house and curled up under the bed in pain. But there's nothing so annoying as a small cut with onion juice poured on it. Sounds fun.

I might be looking for a new house soon. That'd be a great blog. Do you think they'd cover those expenses?

Other ways to take maximum advantage of newspapers that pay reimbursements:

- a European travel blog

- stories about war (I hear that insurance for trips to Qatar, Israel, Afghanistan, and/or Iraq comes at astounding prices.)

- a blog about going back to school at a high-priced university

Hmmmm ... Southwest Newspapers, beware. Your employees are conspiring to use your money for their personal enjoyment. Not that you won't get something out of the deal, though.

It certainly was a lot of food to ingest, that’s for sure. The weird thing is, though, that I seemed to have less leftover food after five recipes than I usually do after two or three recipes. I think that’s because Molly and I made the recipes slowly over the course of the night, and they were smaller servings.

Delicious food, though. I really liked the jerk chicken, and the grilled pound cake was pretty good, too. I’m going to enjoy some BLT dip when I get home tonight while I watch the Packers take down the Broncos.

Sorry to disappoint all the ladies out there, but I don’t believe either of the above statements are true – I’m not single, nor can I really cook. Before this experiment, my meals consisted of peanut butter sandwiches or (if I was lucky) canned soup. The only difference now is that I’ve got recipes to follow and incentive to follow them.
