Being another former Miss Jordan, I also found the begining of your artical to be offensive. It is not fair to our newly crowned Miss Jordan to be introduced in such a negative way. However, I do recognize your apology, but I agree with the other Miss Jordan when she says that you owe more than just a small apology. You should direct it to the new royalty, the cordinators of the program, the chamber of commerce, and to all the past royalty.

I forgot to mention that the video that was posted isn't that great. Lauren,the new queen, has a really good one. If you ask, she will send it to you so that people can actually see who is being crowned.

Your editorial did come off very negative and extremely offensive! As a former Miss Jordan I was very angry with the way in which you began your editorial. There were other readers I spoke to, who aren't even involved with the pageant in any way, that were equally as offended. You owe many people more than just your short apology here. It is a big accomplishment, a great honor, and something that someone should take great pride in, being crowned Miss Jordan, and you simply dismissed it to be nothing.

Brandon Otte shot this video, but I made a point to be at the Miss Jordan coronation, shooting a lot of photos and thoroughly enjoying it. Besides the championship match of the volleyball tournament and a rainy shift at the Lions food booth, the coronation was the main reason I went to Heimatfest.

It's a big deal to be crowned Miss Jordan, a worthy accomplishment.

Sorry if my editorial this week came off a little bit negative. In retrospect, emphasis should've been placed on the many positive things about the annual competition.

Jim certainly represented

Jim certainly represented the county fair very well this morning (I was at the kickoff breakfast), and the accidental loudness of the speakers, which probably broadcast Jim's voice to who knows how many listeners, ought to raise awareness of the event. It did seem like there was a point at which a radio technician whispered to a fair board member, asking if it would be OK to turn down the speakers. But why not get a little publicity?

Anyone listen to WCCO at the scott co. fair this morning? There were times where I couldn't tell the difference between Mike Lynch's voice and Jim Terwedo's.

I would think that high of coverage on WCCO should help out attendance.

Eight young women showed up

Eight young women showed up at the informational meeting, an excellent turnout. The chamber of commerce wants to see more participation this year, and the meeting turnout has gotten organizers hopes up.

Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota

Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota and her parents wrote some nice things about the Jordan royalty after her experience riding on Miss Jordan's float. A letter to the editor was sent in, so check the print edition.

Here's an e-mail that I received:

I have attached a copy of the letter to the editor published in the Montgomery Messenger thanking the Jordan royalty for allowing my daughter to ride on their float after our unit lights failed to work.

They were kind, and went out of there way to assist my daughter to be a part of the community she lives in, which is Montgomery. Danielle represents her heritage as Miss Czech Slovak MN Princess and participated your celebration this year.

I applaud the royalty and parents that represent Jordan, they should be very proud, because of the good deed they lent when Danielle might not have been able to participate.
