I can sympathies i manage

I can sympathies i manage over a dozen pop accounts all of which get sorted in outlook to their own inbox i'm receiving hundreds a week in junk and have seen them all. When i went on vacation to greece as i do each year for about a month i came home to find that when i set outlook to receive new emails there were a few thousand in the inbox. I try and take my laptop now on vacation to download emails on a regular basis last time i was away i was on a Royal Caribbean thankfully they had internet access. Occasionally i'll respond to emails like this taking up the time of the scamers and hoping i saved someone from dealing with them and just for kicks to see what they say when you respond. Whats sad is the real people who've sent them money thousands upon thousands from all over the world. Search youtube for nigerian scam and you'll see them being arrested over there but that does little to stop the emails.

But without all those junk e-mails, I would never repeatedly win the lotteries of various countries or receive any "Dear Sweetest" letters begging for help with moving money into American bank accounts.

Just today, I was offered 20 percent of $45 million U.S. if I just use my bank account as a vehicle for exchange from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mr. Richard Laubsheri assures me, "After going through some old files in the records, I discovered that if I do not remit this money out urgently it would be forfeited for nothing. The owner of this account is Mr Smith B. Andrew, a foreigner, and a miner at a Gold Company, a geologist by profession and died since 2000. No other person knows this account or anything concerning it, the account has no beneficiary and my investigation proved to me as well that the company does not know anything about this account ..."

I am so honored to be chosen (insert strong sarcasm here). I can't believe that people actually fall for this and lose their life savings "helping" people.

We have a no-parking rule on

We have a no-parking rule on the two streets in my subdivision (not in Jordan) but I often have to "thread the needle" between vehicles parked on both sides of the street to get to my driveway.

Then there are the lazy teenagers who drive their vehicles up the asphalted walking trail in the park at the end of the road so they can park closer to the basketball court.

I'm not sure if there is a no-parking sign on the street for visitors to know better, but it's in our association rules that no on-street parking is allowed (but I think I'm the only resident who read the handbook?)

There is a "no motorized vehicles" sign at the top of the walking path (between the basketball court and the road) but not at the road.

I would only laugh if (1) one of the illegally parked vehicles was hit or towed or (2) if the police showed up at the park. The latter happens occasionally, but we're supposed to call the management company for our association about parking -- and they might call back three days later but would probably never actually come out to assess the situation.

Good luck with all that, Brandon. A faster computer would be nice, but there are just so many fascinating free programs out there that we want to download and try out.

I'd recommend running

I'd recommend running Adaware as well, while not concurrently. Between both you'll get a higher percentage of the nasties [beyond the cookies which are the low fruit] and you can feel a lot more confident you got "most" of your problems if there are any out there. There are products that run around forty dollars that do the same work, and that are a lot more efficient in cleaning.

If the system is three years or older you might think about simply wiping it and starting over after backing up your data. You can never go wrong there.

Contributing perhaps, major is unlikely. Do a Start > Run > then type MSCONFIG and click on your "start up" tab.

You'll see things there like qtime task, perhaps adobe and much more you might be able to disable. There's more you can look for, not the least of which is run a good spyware program, two perhaps like Adaware or Spybot and see if you've got any male ware or spyware utilizing your resources.

Everyone, including Editors, (or especially Editors) have the experience of sending out what they think are important words of wisdom and getting little or no response. Kinda a 'blah' reaction. Sort of like "Hollering down the rain barrel", ... and the echo says "Ain't nobody here but us chickens". We, like it or not, got a War and an Election going on. All that tends to distract and to remind us . . . We ain't got it too bad after all.
