Sorry, but after reading

Sorry, but after reading this the day it was posted, I felt this was needed to be said...

It is sad to hear a story like this. No disrespect to Mr. Cobb or your family, but demanding crossing arms will not control this railroad crossing. What needs to be done, just like in most accidents, is drivers need to pay attention while driving and drive responsibly.

This has been the first accident at this train crossing I have ever heard of. I grew up on the other side of the tracks and crossed them daily. The crossing is not a blind crossing by any means, you definitely can see when a train is coming from either side. You would have to be blind also not to notice the flashing red lights just like the other crossings in .

If you choose to argue the other train accident fatality, I keep hearing how the other driver tried to beat the train at the hardly-busy stop sign-controlled crossing down the line. That is what I hear and it makes sense to me. Responsible driving would have avoided that accident.

I did not know Mr. Cobb nor do i have specifics of the accident, but one person's mistake does not mean crossing arms are needed at all railroad crossings in Jordan. Impatient drivers would still go around the arms and then what would you demand? A brick wall? Drastic thinking, but how else would someone solve that problem?

Andy

one death is one too many. The city of Jordan need to place mechanical arms on the rail crossings.

guard crossings at the railroad tracks

My sons' lost their father ,Wally Cobb in that tragic motorcycle accident on May 1st. His oldest had to go to prom without him. Who is to say that guard crossings would have help, but what will it take to put them there? Another tragic life taken. Please come together as a community and insist that they are put there. There won't be a day that passes by that we won't remember him. Just don't put another family through this same pain,if it can be avoided!
