I agree with you about covering the Twins and their presentations, et cetera. Complaining rarely gets results anyway. Those who are widely regarded as some of the most talented photo journalism professionals in the state might not be using their talents best while they are shooting pomp and circumstance.

Too, at the Strib, those ceremonial-type photos rarely see the light of day. As a photographer, you might want to shoot something that runs in the paper or on the Web. Otherwise, it feels like a waste of time. So the challenge to the photographer is to catch, at the very least, an interesting look on someone's face.

When the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (or some convolutedly named team like that) comes to the Metrodome next week to face my favorite professional sports team, the Minnesota Twins, the hometown team will honor one of its enemies.

Torii Hunter will receive his Gold Glove award prior to the opening-day baseball game against his former team.
