Helena Township residents vote Tuesday in the primary for the special election.

Minnesota Senate District 25 has a seat open, what with Sen. Thomas Neuville earning a judicial nomination in Rice County. The only contested race in the primary is within the Republican Party -- Ray Cox, Keith Swanson, and Rod Tietz are vying for their party's nomination. Kevin Dahle is the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party nominee, and Vance Norgaard has filed as an Independence Party candidate.
