I can definitely try and find out.

Access to high school stats is highly subjective and questionable. There really is no one central clearing house for high school stats, that is one of the things that makes it tough to cover high schools. No school (and even no sport in that same school) do things quite the same way. It is really kind of sad. They all do things differently (some schools dont even keep records) and there is no one place that it all has to be reported to.

All the information I get comes from coaches (and what they are willing to share with me). But I can definitely inquire as to the playoff records under Dietel.

So far the mighty Hubmen are not playing the way I expected this year. I thought Cecka would be more of a scorer this year. However, I like the way Yuriy Maleshenko is playing. He's tall and is aggressive around the basket.

The Hubmen have played some tough teams, and I think in February, they'll play better. Maybe they will still finish in the middle of the pack in the conference and win a game or two in the playoffs.

Brian - what is the farthest the Hubmen have gone in the playoffs under Dietel? Do you have access to those types of stats? I'd be interested to know.

The outside shooting is the big question mark for coach Dietel. Overall, the coach is pretty optimistic though.

They were kind of up-and-down last year, I think they have the chance to be better, despite losing so many guys.

Read a preview of the team (all the winter sports teams in fact) in this week's paper, available Thursday.

I think this year you will

I think this year you will see the Hubmen around the .500 mark and will finish in the top half of the conference. Oakes, and Lucas will be the studs. Micheal Pauly should compliment them well, he has a nice little jumper. The question mark will be who will be able to hit the three's? Or will they do without that this year?

* Boys basketball - A few returning players, but must replace scoring.
* Girls basketball - Another trip to state maybe?
* Scott West wrestling- Always a top team in the state.
