Today, the car cruise starts at 6:45 p.m., but registration starts at 5. I'd suggest getting here early to see the cars as they line up, completely filling several blocks of downtown streets. Enjoy.

Who's up for a tug of war? Read about it in the Sept. 6 print edition of the JI. Oh, and molly, the full schedule will be in the print edition, too. For your planning purposes, I'd say to come during the middle of the day and stay as late as you can.

Is there a list of events & times anywhere online yet? I checked the city website and it has 2006 schedule on it. I have friends that are coming to visit specifically for Heimatfest and we haven't located the schedule yet.

I’m not going to be able to go to Heimatfest this year, but the thing I’ll miss the most is the volleyball tournament. I’ve never played in it, but I’ve been amazed for the last two years at the level of play in this tourney. It’s really just fun to watch.
