Is...really easy if you live

Is...really easy if you live in Shakopee, like I said Free Shuttle to the Transit hub and then a $2.75 ride to the cities. Now I forgot to mention that there are right now only 8 buses that run from the Southbridge Transit Station. There may be others added later, but only 8 now.

Lets say you wanted to get from Jordan to Downtown Minneapolis at 11:30 AM, may be a little more work but can still be done.

Call Dial-a-Ride at the number above in my other post. Talk to one of the nice ladies and schedule a ride from Jordan to the Burnsville Transit Station. From Burnsville the busses run to the cities all day long. From Jordan to Burnsville $3.00 --- Burnsville to Mpls (XXX) don't know the fees, wouldn't expect it to me much over $3.00 though.

I wish I could drive my Ford F-150 to the cities for $6.00 these days.

Thanks for the answers, Jason. So it seems like it would be pretty easy to get from Jordan to Minneapolis on public transportation.

I am currently driving for

I am currently driving for Scott County Transit and can answer some of these questions for you. Scott County Transit operates many busses in the county each day of the week (Monday - Friday). We transport people of all ages and all abilities around the county to different places.

How easy is it? Pretty dang easy to catch a ride. All you have to do is call customer service at 496-8341 to set up a ride. They will do there best to get you where you need to go. The fees for riding the bus are based on where you need to go, but for example, if you need to get from a Jordan address to a Jordan address the cost for that ride will be $2.00, $1.00 for seniors. If you need to get from Belle Plaine to an address in Shakopee that ride will cost $3.00, once again $1.50 for seniors (50% off). You then would also book a ride for your return trip home. This service is called Dial-a-ride and is available Monday thru Friday 5:30am-7:00pm.

We also offer some fixed route service. We have what we call 498's that run in the AM and PM from certain stops in Shakopee. These shuttles are free of change and will take you to the Southbridge Transit Station in Shakopee. This is a new transit station located behind Home Depot. From there you will take a 490 into Minneapolis. There is a charge for riding the 490's.

We also offer a 496 Circulator in Shakopee. This ride does cost $1.00/$.50 for seniors. The 496 is a fixed route that basically circles the city of Shakopee and visits many of the business in town. For example, Target, St. Francis, Courthouse, Walmart, Workforce Center and many other stops.

We also offer Shopping Shuttles on certain days. Each towns day is different. The shopping bus picks up people and takes them to the local grocery store, free of charge and then back home.

You can get more information about Scott County Transit by visiting our website. The address is http://www.co.scott.mn.us/wps/portal/SCTransit?CSF=1302&CSI=csc015036

Jump on the Bus!
