I debated making up a huge

I debated making up a huge story about finding him in the wild after wrestling a bear or something, but I'll tell the real anti-climatic story. I attended a local photography confrence this weekend and they brought in a few animals for us to shoot. I was about 4 ft away from him and was able to move around him & his area as necessary and I did lay on the ground (in mud) for a few shots. In the last shot he'd just eaten a treat that his handler had tossed to him so he was sniffing around the area where it had landed. So, since he wasn't really in the wild I plan on using the pictures for me instead of entering them in competitions and such, like I do with my other photos.

Wildlife photography can be

Wildlife photography can be a bit frustrating to me -- a lot of planning, waiting, and watching for only a few good shots. Would you mind telling us the story about how you came upon this wolf?

You snapped a nice selection of different types of shots. How long did the wolf stay there for you? What was it doing in the fourth shot?

It looks like you shot from the ground. What was your vantage point?

Enjoyed the pics. Looks like a domestic wolf-cross in somebodys yard. This time of year they don't usually look that clean and nice in the wild. Looks like a fun shoot!

I had an opportunity to take these shots today. Anyone care to guess how far away I was?
