Are we now at the point of

Are we now at the point of having three (3) political parties in the race for President? Republican, Democratic and Conservative. Rebublicans tout the fact they are Conservatives (and invoke the name of Reagan as a reference) just as Democrates invoke the name of Truman. In a sense, they deny their own political party. I lived during the entire terms of both, and quite frankly, I don't see any of the candidates as a mirror image of the President invoked. Far from it. In fact, during his term each former President, received plenty of criticism much (most) of it deserved. What we need the most from any candidate is 'good judgement'. Reagan and Truman had good judgement. That seems in short supply in today's government.

Newt Gingrich has not thrown

Newt Gingrich has not thrown his hat into the presidential ring and claims that he will not unless no other good Conservative steps forward.

Whether you are Democrat or Republican you should go to http://www.americansolutions.com and watch the "Lincoln at Cooper Union" dialogue.

It features Newt Gingrinch and Mario Cuomo each giving speeches on their perspective of America now and in the future.

On the same site is video of Mr. Gingrich's keynote speech at CPAC.

The idea behind American Solutions is great and worth the read also.

I do think Newt Gingrich would be a good president. He is a Reagan conservative through and through. He is a former history teacher and his speeches explain how history plays a part in the future.

As a reminder, there are

As a reminder, there are more parties out there than just Republican and Democrats...

A good website to check out for a listing of all of the nominees is Politics1.com, which lists the nominees by party.

Take the time to research all candidates, and not just the ones the mainstream media "forces" upon us. In my opinion, one reason why third party candidates don't get the visibility they should is because of the "left-ness" (or "right-ness") of the media. If the media were doing it's proper job, we'd be hearing more of the Constitutional, Libertarian, Green, etc. candidates, as well as having them be a part of each and every one of the debates. Aside from Ross Perot and Ralph Nader, which other party candidates were part of any of the major presidential debates in the last 10-20 years?

When my wife and I were in Rome, Italy, a year ago on our honeymoon, they were in the final days of their elections, and there were posters of at least 10 different candidates running for their top office. It's unfortunate that a country as large and diverse as ours only has two "major" parties.

Who's Your Next President?

Do you like the Democratic candidates for president of the United States? Does race or sex matter at the polls? Will voters send a black man to the top office in the country? What about a woman?
