Armand Peterson, one of the authors of "Town Ball: Glory Days of Minnesota Amateur Baseball," will speak at 7 p.m. tonight (Sept. 20) at the Shakopee Public Library. Peterson is the first of a line of Minnesota authors that will appear at the library this fall as part of a Minnesota library forum.

Then on Sunday, at 1:30 p.m., the authors of "Booked 4 Murder" will interview each other about the craft of mystery writing. Those authors Lois Greiman, C. Hyytinen,Michael Allan Mallory and Marilyn Victor.

The Shakopee Public Library, 235 S. Lewis St., will also host the following authors on these dates:  

• Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. Roger Stelljes, author of "The St. Paul Conspiracy."

• Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. William Swanson, author of, "Dial M: the Murder of Carol Thompson."

• Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. William Kent Krueger, author of "Mercy Falls, Copper River," and many more.

• Oct. 13 at 1:30 p.m. Faith Sullivan’s works include "The Cape Ann, The Empress of One and Gardenias."

• Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. Doug Ohman will be doing a slide presentation about the Minnesota historical buildings, including churches, schools, barns, and courthouses. 

• Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. Kim Ode, author of "Baking with the St. Paul Bread Club" and a Star Tribune writer.

• Oct. 27 at 1:30 p.m. Stanley Gordon West is the author of "Until They Bring the Streetcars Back," "Growing an Inch, Amos: To Ride a Dead Horse" (turned in to a CBS movie of the week), and many other books.

• Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. MaryJanice Davidson, author of the Undead and… series plus series on Werewolves, Mermaids and the Royal Family of Alaska (you read that right).

• Oct. 30, 7 p.m., Vincent Wyckoff, author of "Beware of Cat and Other Encounters of a Letter Carrier." 

All author talks will take place in the large meeting room off the lobby downstairs in the library. All of these talks are all free and open to the public. You may have a chance to purchase books and have them signed by the authors. Light refreshment will be served at the events.
