It's been so hot that doing anything outside of the house is difficult, but I read something that made me feel a little better to be in balmy Minnesota.
In this month's issue of National Geographic Magazine, there was a one-page feature on Lake Natron in Tanzania. Located in the Rift Valley Basin, the lake holds some of the Earth's saltiest and hottest waters -- reaching 122 degrees Fahrenheit in some places, the article said.
I'm glad I'm not one of the flamingoes that lives along that lake.
