Twins' infield seems secure

So as of late, the Minnesota Twins' infield seems pretty secure.

Because they were National Leaguers, I don't know a whole lot about second baseman Brendan Harris, shortstop Adam Everett, or third baseman Mike Lamb. I have seen all of them play, and they weren't on my list of hopeful acquisitions for a team that I really, really, really, really want to make the playoffs this year.

But I don't think they'll be half bad, either.

Take a look at the stats for:

- and Harris (http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=430593).

And wish us luck. I think Lamb (always on base) and Harris (should score a lot of runs) can be good hitters, but Everett (cutting down on strikeouts) is a all-field, no-hit kind of guy. I don't mind having a veteran shortstop with a lot of range, because that also takes the onus off of Nick Punto to play every day. This will be a good situation for the Twins.

Of course the eternal optimist thinks the Twins infield is secure.

They might be in a better position than they were two weeks ago, but I wouldn't call the infield (and CF for that matter) secure. You have no idea what you are going to get out of ANY of them. You can even add Morneau to that list. Now, Morneau is a darn good player and definitely a starter and middle-of-the-order hitter, but do you even know what you are going to get from him next year? He was the MVP and then not even close. I imagine he probably settles somewhere in between the past two years, but I don't think anyone really knows for sure what Morneau will do. And the rest of the infield is the same way.

So long Carlos Silva, especially for that much coin.

Adam Everett's been around long enough. I know what to expect from him. Isn't he basically Greg Gagne?

The infield is more secure than last year, for sure.

And I'd wouldn't call any of Justin Morneau unpredictable, exactly. Let me go out on a limb here and say he's going to hit .280 with 30 homers and 100 or more RBI.
