My football picks: Worth bragging about

My football picks are worth bragging about, despite the fact that nationally I rank in the 2 percentile on Football Zone. You see, some people think that fantasy football picks are about choosing the winning team the most times. (And that's how the game is scored.) But I'd prefer to tell you these amazing stats from week 1 of the National Football League season: - Who besides me knew that the New York Giants would score exactly 35 points? Not you. - Who besides me knew that the Green Bay Packers could actually beat the Philadelphia Eagles? Only 25 percent of those picking. - I also nailed the Carolina over St. Louis pick and the Houson over Kansas City pick. What did you do -- predict that the best team in the league would beat the worst team? Seriously. That's boring. Fantasy sports is all about bragging rights, not predicting the predictable. This week, 97 percent of those picking are leaning toward a Cincinnati win in Cleveland. My picks strategy? Obvious -- choose Cleveland. Then, when they win, I can say I told you so. I didn't score with that pick, but now I'm in the top five among Southwest Newspaper pickers. Your strategy may be to score on ridiculous picks, but if I've learned anything from my Green Bay Packers, it doesn't matter how well you play the game just as long as you win the game. I can miss a few picks here and there as long as I win the game.
