Can I just say that Justin Morneau is on a tear right now?

Not tonight ... yet.

But the Twins first baseman is one of the best in the major leagues, and he's been even more fun to watch lately. I love to watch that looping first-pitch home-run cut.

In the past two weeks, Morny is batting .313 with five home runs and 18 runs batted in. His season on-base-plus-slugging percentage is .933. Whew!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Morneau will catch Alex Rodriguez for the major league lead in home runs. Only four home runs separate the two star players.
