I was wondering why the skip didn't pinch hit Mauer in that heart-breaking 4-3 loss yesterday.

What are we going to do without the kid batting third? I mean, Torii Hunter filled in nicely in the No. 3 hole, but he's not going to have a hitting streak like this all year, is he?

It's great to have a guy like Mike Redmond as the backup and to give a kid like Chris Heintz another chance. Hopefully, the pull some Henry Blanco-esque miracles while we are without the most eligible bachelor in the Twin Cities.

We need a pick-me-up for the upcoming series with Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland. And we need to pitch really well.
