Lawn sprinkling restrictions have gone into effect.

The restrictions follow the odd-even system, plus time restrictions.

A customer whose home or business address ends with an odd number may sprinkle on odd-numbered dates.

A customer whose home or business address ends with an even number may sprinkle on even-numbered dates.

In addition, no sprinkling is permitted between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., regardless of the home or address. A 30-day exception will be allowed for new seed or new sod.

Police are enforcing the city ordinance among all water customers of the city of Jordan. Fines are: $25 for the first violation; $50 for the second violation; and $100 for each violation thereafter.

The ordinance applies seven days a week, year round, regardless of the source of water, according to the most recent city newsletter.
