For me, this week was full of music.
I downloaded a bunch of stuff on iTunes, which I'm just now learning how to use -- I know I'm behind the times -- because my darlin' wife is obsessed with her iPod. It's almost impossible for me not to listen while I download. Then, I have a hard time turning off the music, and it ends up wasting a lot of time. It's fun, though. I even stole the iPod while I could listen while shoveling snow.
Here's what I've been hearing lately:
- the Beatles;
- the Supertones;
- lots of U2 (like most of their repertoire, in fact);
- the Skatalites;
- old-school Sublime;
- the Specials;
- a Tooth & Nail Records sampler CD called "You Can't Handle the Tooth," featuring songs by Anberlin, Classic Crime, Spoken, and Starflyer 59;
- Ace Troubleshooter;
- the "Clerks" soundtrack, featuring songs from Alice in Chains, Bad Religion, Love Among Freaks, the Jesus Lizard, Supernova, and Soul Asylum;
- Payable on Death (P.O.D.);
- Magnified Plaid (more commonly known as MxPx);
- Norah Jones;
- Prince;
- Project 86;
- Rancid;
- Weezer;
- and the Velvet Underground.
And after all of that music, I can't keep the "Howard the Duck" theme song out of my head? I swear I'm going crazy.
