I have a confession to make: I have recently watched "Howard the Duck."
As a child, my parents were concerned about allowing me to watch anything with adult situations, I should say. This George Lucas-directed movie was one of several that were banned from my eyes. I usually obeyed when my parents told me not to watch something. I could always fall back on "Star Wars," which I watched practically every day.
This week, I was not impressed by "Howard the Duck." Had it not been banned years ago, I probably wouldn't have liked it then, either. I'm a fan of Lucas, but this one was a tremendous flop.
It did have some moments that didn't make me gag, though. My favorite one-liners were both Howard the Duck quotes. Here goes:
"I know why you want a toolbox. You have a screw loose," says Howard.
And, after a fight with what the movie called "a dark overlord," Howard says, "I need this like I need another tail."
Silly, I know. What was in Lucas' head at the time when he made this movie? Geez, Louise.
After watching it, all I could do was shake my head and think, What did I just watch?
