City revises ordinances

Second readings were approved of the following ordinance revisions to the city's code:

+ Permits are required for recreational fires in a portable fireplace. A recreational fire by the code's definition does not include a fire within a container that is used solely for food preparation (grill).

+ Beer may be consumed in a public park, provided it is not sold or distributed for any kind of remuneration unless the city issues a special permit authorizing the sale of beer in a park.

+ People under the age of 18 may now enter liquor-licensed establishments to consume meals or to pick up takeout meals, which is now consistent with situations in which people younger than 18 years old may enter an establishment that is licensed for gambling.
