City considers adding fall cleanup day

» Read similar stories filed under:

Jordan Public Works received the go-ahead to hold a fall cleanup day to residents.

Scott County gave Jordan and Sand Creek Township about $3,700 for their annual spring cleanup, and the county has offered money for a fall event, as well.

City staff is considering doing the cleanup day on Oct. 12, Oct. 26, or Nov. 16.

"Nov. 16 you might be plowing snow," Jordan City Councilmember Mike Shaw told Public Works Director Dave Bendzick.

Bendzick knocked on the wooden desk in front of him.

"That is a possibility," he said.

City staff was directed by the council to choose a convenient day and spread the word to residents about the additional cleanup day.
