John Levar, who is planning to move from Belle Plaine and construct a home in Jordan, proposed a circular driveway at the siteĀ for his new home.
But on Monday, the city council denied the proposal.
The city staff had informed Levar that Jordan allows only one access point to each residential property, a policy that has been enforced for two years. He appealed to the city council.
Two weeks ago, the council heard Levar's proposal and referred it to the Jordan Planning Commission. The commission voted 5-1 to deny the request, and this week, the city council agreed and voted 6-0 to deny the request.
Councilmember Jeremy Goebel, who pushed at the earlier council meeting to have the commission discuss the proposal but also said he did not see an issue with the proposal, was not in attendance at this week's meeting.
