If I owned a business, I would make sure that I had a blog on this Web site.
Some of the blogs on the Web site for your local newspaper get upwards of 1,000 hits. That, of course, is hit and miss, depending upon the topic of your blog. But it can happen.
As the editor of the Jordan Independent, a business with a downtown storefront, I find great value in the free forum that a Web site provides. But doing it on your own is a whole lot more hassle than just starting one up on this Web site.
Just register, log in, click Add Content and then "blog entry."
Please, no blogs about prices. But feel free to give your opinions on the topics of the day, explain your business' services, or tell stories about work or play.

What (Jordan) businesses are...

To tell you the truth, not...
Back to page topTo tell you the truth, not too many. I'm hoping for many more. What I'd like to see is businessowners blogging about their services, not about prices.
Ray Sandey of ERA Sandey Real Estate is a great example. He has been blogging about twice a month lately, but he posts comments more often than that. Every time he posts something, readers see his name -- and a big part of doing business in Jordan is name recognition.
I would also suggest John Laeger's and Kathy Ghost Hunter's blogs. Each of them are affiliated with nonprofit organizations. They are often telling people what their organizations are doing.
