One of the best endings has to be "L.A. Confidential," and the ending is one of the reasons the movie is quickly moving up my all-time favorite list. I won’t give anything away, but the movie has a nice enough twist, followed by an epic gun battle and some political maneuvering.
For some reason, I always like endings that don’t quite resolve everything. They seem more true to the characters. A great example is "Spider-Man." I’m going to go ahead and give this ending away just to say that I would have been incredibly disappointed if Peter Parker got the girl at the end of the first flick. His walking away from Mary Jane made the most sense.
Of course, the best unresolved ending is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."
