Lakers vs. Celtics

Lakers vs. Celtics in the NBA finals starts tonight. Do you dig the series?

I’m excited about the match-up, even if it’s a total ply by the NBA. I’m cheering for the Celtics for two reasons: Garnett deserves a championship, and you always ALWAYS cheer against the Lakers.

Anyone else watch the game last night? It was a pretty good one – especially KG’s photogenic dunk. Good stuff.

I would've, but I was working. My darling wife even called me to remind me about it. By the time I got the message, it was too late. I'll have to catch the next one.

I didn’t watch last night’s game (I was really tired after a long weekend with my sister’s wedding), but I guess I have to give credit where credit is due. Even though the Celtics won (like I hoped), I’ve been reading online that they may have gotten a little extra help from the officiating of the game. Boston shot something like 38 free throws to the Lakers 10. That probably means that the NBA is gunning for the Celtics to win.

I am, too, but I want it to be a fair win and a seven-game series.

How about that game last night? Garnett and the Celtics just demolished L.A. It was great – the Lakers just gave up on the game and on themselves. That's a great lesson on how champions aren't supposed to act – like spoiled brats who give up when they don't get their way.

The KG interview was quite bizarre. I didn't know what to think of it, but now I hear that the "anything's possiiibblle!" yell was a reference to a product he endorses.

I was embarrassed for him. That's for sure. I think next time, as soon as the game is over, I'll just turn the tv off.

Didn't like the interview at all. Loved the game, though. Ray Allen couldn't stop hitting 3-pointers -- whew!

KG's scream was not a slogan for Adidas, one of his sponsors. But it sure sounded similar. Here's one column about it: http://www.cnbc.com/id/25242538.

I thought KG's press conference was more bizzare than his interview on court.

I'm glad The Big Ticket finally got his championship ring. Although something tells me KG has been watching Rocky movies recently.

KG's press conference at the game.
"I have to say, other than my kid being born, this is the happiest day of my life."

Rocky after beating Apollo Creed in their epic rematch. (Use your slow, Philly accent and kind of yell it).
"I just want to say one thing, with the exception of my kid being, born, this is the the greatest night of my life."

Hmmmm. Did KG watch Rocky II the night before Game 6 to get some inspiration?

His forte is hoops, not public speaking. Oh well.
