The Belle Plaine school board recently lent its support to a proposal by the Minnesota School Board Association that would request cameras be" mounted in school buses to keep a wary eye out for misdeeds or poor behavior," according to the July 2 issue of the Belle Plaine Herald.

Is recording students necessary for eliminating vandalism and misbehavior? Or are bus services already effective in maintaining a safe environment for our schoolchildren?

Should the cameras be hidden or not?
