New bears at the zoo

Anyone seen the new exhibit at the Minnesota Zoo? The “Russia’s Grizzly Coast” exhibit? I’m thinking of checking it out, and I’d like to know what others thought of it.

This exhibit is really, really cool. Granted, I hadn't been to the Minnesota Zoo in several years, so many of the other changes were new to me, as well. There are three active grizzlies from Alaska. I could've watched them play for hours. And the environment they have set up and the informational signs that you can read are more than enough to stimulate the viewer. It's definitely worth going to.

I actually did go to the new exhibit, but I was a little disappointed. Sure, it was pretty darn cool. The bears were neat, and my favorite new animal at the zoo may be the sea otters. But the rest of the exhibit was made up of animals that were already at the zoo.

Of course, it didn’t help that my family and I went to the new exhibit late in the day and by that time it was overcrowded and we couldn’t really even move through without bumping people. I had only a few seconds to watch the otters and the bears before I was pushed out of the way.
