Microwaveable dinners

I just finished eating a Stouffer's microwaveable dinner for the first time. It was lasagna with meat & sauce, large size (21 ounces). Not bad. I'm not a big microwaveable dinner guy, so I basically closed my eyes and picked one out of the grocery store freezer. But they do make good lunches at work. Any suggestions of other microwaveable dishes to try? Which brand names are the best?

Back to page topI bought a couple of microwave dinners the other day, and I decided never to buy them again. Without giving a brand name, I got a kind that had little compartments for each part of the meal, and none of them heated up correctly.
I think it would be better to chose a meal that was solitary (like your lasagna), and didn’t need a compartmentalized tray. Of course, you can never go wrong with pizza rolls, either.
I made beer-cheese...
Back to page topI made beer-cheese flatbread last weekend. (OK, so it's not exactly microwaveable -- only the leftovers are. But it is food out of a box, so I'm writing about it anyway.)
A great success. My first "homemade" bread ever. It was made with Corona, eggs, Cheddar cheese, and beer bread mix (mostly flour). Then, it was plopped onto a cookie sheet, topped with more cheese, and baked for 30 minutes.
Easy as pie.

I used to work with a woman...
Back to page topI used to work with a woman who bought a container of microwaveable beer cheese soup from the grocery store. She ate most of it at work and was sick for the next week. I’ve steered clear of beer cheese products since.
