Spehar? Great high school player. The 3 hat tricks in the state tourney were unbelieveable.

But as a Gopher, he was nothing great.

Best High school: Spehar, Crowley, Broten, Bonin, Stauber, Olimb.

College: Bonin, Crowley, Stauber, Olimb, Genander, Vanek, Leopold, Hawkinsen (Peter), Richards (either one), McAlpine, Broten.

Pros: Housley, Broten, Jon Casey, Langebrunner, Joel Otto, Trent Klatt.

Not a lot of pros to pick from or I am drawing a blank on them.

The others are only players that I have seen play, so none of the old timers are listed.

What about the Carlson brothers?

Jack, former North Star goon, who would have been in "Slap Shot" with his two brothers if he wasn't playing pro hockey.

Then, Jeff and Steve Carlson (AKA - two of the three Hanson brothers) of "Slap Shot" fame.

All Virgina High graduates form the Iron Range.
