Without seeing a game yet this year I am going to make a bold prediction that the Hubmen will have a solid year this year. I think they will finish 3rd or 4th in the conference. Here are my reasons for stating so.
1)Stephen Beckman - a great 3 point shooter and great decision maker. He will be healthy this year. Perhaps he'll play a bunch at point.
2)T.J. Oakes - Didn't start until well into the season last year and was their most consistent offensive player. We get a full year of Oakes!
3)Cody Allen - a good athlete that can dunk and shoot the 3. Needs to be consistent with his effort, especially on defense.
Question marks that I have are:
1) Who do we have at point guard? Is Trapp the guy running the show?
2) Will Cecka be a solid contributor?
The Hubmen didn't get much for a positive comment in the Strib's preview a couple of weeks ago. I distinctly remember the preview saying something to the effect of this: The team needs to find an inside presence.
It seems like T.J. Oakes and Lucas Cecka have been answering that question.
The boys are playing really well right now. I can't wait to see how they do against Holy Family tonight. I think they will have to play the best game of the year to beat them. Go Hubmen!
