Hello: I am Dan Elke, or Daniel Elke is how I have put it on the ballot.
Who am I? I am a lifelong resident of Jordan, I am currently a retired Grand Format Field Engineer and a stay at home father.

My family is still in the area as well as the family of my wife. Many people have met me and can form their own opinion of me... some good.... some not so good and some just a myth. What they will not be able to tell you is that my interest in politics grew after I graduated from Jordan High in 1983. I did not pursue this as I worked in the Graphic Advertising Industry and was attending Hennepin Technical College until 1986. I worked as the Print Media Director at the Carlton Celebrity Theatre until it was closed to make room for the Mall of America. After the Carlton's closing, I was offered a large sum to work for a Banking Outfit out of Reno, this I could not do as I maintained a Fondness for the People of Jordan and knew that I would not be leaving the area. I had been in the Graphic Engineering field until an Injury forced me to early retirement.
My Great Uncle Joe Leibert was a Council Member for Jordan for many years. I believe that I can at times be as out-spoken as my Uncle Joe. I have recently discovered that I am related to Floyd B. Olson who the first Farmer Labor was elected Governor of Minnesota; he was Governor in the 1930's. Even though it may not be to my Polical Advantage, I do not believe that Misguideing people is the way to a better City, State, or America. All elected officials should speak for the masses and not be swayed by political or monitary self gain. My family has lived in the Area for a long time, even prior to Minnesota Statehood and with my wife, children and family will be in the area for some time to come.
My Greatest aspiration in running for Mayor of Jordan is to hopefully inspire people to Vote. You do not have to Vote for me, I just feel that people have become content in the lack of change, the acceptance of governmental bullying, and business as usual. I can say that current Mayor Jabs is not a bad person, I know that he enjoys being mayor and so would I. I do not know too much of Mr. Ewal, however I know that his intents are well meant. I will not say anything bad of either candidate as I am as tired as everyone else of political mudslinging and the avoidance of issues. I know that I could offer the norm of Jordan citizens a voice and express their opinions.

I am happy that the Jordan Independent has set up an avenue for people to voice their opinions.

WIN or lose I will be enjoying the opportunity to ponder discussion with the populous.

So vote for Ewals, for Jabs or for Elke. My point being VOTE! It may seem that your vote does not count, however, if you have a giant gear and remove a cog or two the gear it will eventually fail, the gears of America have been failing, let’s fill the cogs!
Is the statement above Corny? Yes, I just hope the point is taken.
