The Peeps lost again Tuesday night. I was not on the half that played, but I was at the game. While I don’t remember the score, the big news was that the team wasn’t beaten by more than 10 runs – which may be a first for that squad this season.
The Peeps even had a few rallies in the game before fielding errors made it hard to catch up. When the final inning started, they needed eight runs to tie, and they only got one.
If you want to get technical about it, though, I suppose you could say the Peeps would have won the game if we weren’t such nice people. The other team was short one female player and would have had to forfeit the game if not for a volunteering Peep who switched sides and played catcher for them. Unfortunately, she made a pretty good play at home when one of our runners tried for one more base than he should have – he tried to knock her over, but she held her ground and tagged him out.
