Fair-weather workers

Just the other day I noticed that the center lines along Second Street (Highway 282) in Jordan had been repainted. I also saw road traffic counters on a few of the roads around town, and workers paving a new path through Lagoon Park. On the private end of things, I’ve seen workers building and shingling houses and folks out in their yards landscaping and working in the garden. It seems warmer weather means a busy summer for the city and its residents. What projects have you noticed around town?

Back to page topSpeaking of Highway 282, today I received a voicemail from Jordan City Engineer Carol Caron, who said the Minnesota Department of Transportation hasn't approved the plan for reconstruction yet.
There is no timeline for bidding the project or getting the work done, Caron said in the message.

Back to page topIn a previous article http://www.jordannews.com/node/2835, it was reported that funding had been approved; maybe the plans are just the next phase of the project. I know I haven’t been contacted yet regarding the land acquisition involved. Here is small part of that previous news item:
... the intersection plan must first by approved by the state aid review process.
"We also need to accomplish the necessary land acquisitions during the review process," Caron said.
I'll keep an eye for you, I'm at ground zero anyway.
