Counting down the months

It’s almost March, and you know what that means, don’t you? Of course! We’re almost into one of my favorite parts of the year – the unabbreviated months. From a newspaper standpoint, there are a few months out of the year that are never abbreviated, no matter what the context. Those months start in March and run through July, and thus make up some of the best months out of any year. I’ve got nothing against months like January or October (I’m not a fan of February, which is easily the hardest month to pin down), but I love the unabbreviateds more than the rest of the year combined. Let’s take a quick, unbiased look at what the two sections of the calendar year (abbreviated and unabbreviated months) have to offer:
That’s it, case closed. In fact, if it wasn’t for the fact that I’m getting married in August this year, I’d say those abbreviated months are pretty much a wash.

Back to page topBrandon, looking into the future as you encourage here, has me wondering the dates Spirit Hill Memorial Day Services are scheduled this year. I have missed twice since 1930 (by pass surgery, Luzon) and God Willing (you know how it goes at my age) would like to make plans to be there again this year. From the standpoint, over the years, of respecting and honoring its Veterans and observing Memorial Day, Jordan stands with the tallest boys in the class.

I would have fired up my Stella (with sidecar) and ripped around Jordan using this new found holiday as an excuse, but I found out about it after the 4th. I probably could have even borrowed you the '88 honda elite that I used to scoot around UW-P 10 years ago. I'm sure it's even been out to the M a few times in it's life. You'll have to organize a Jordan rally.

Moped Day is for everyone,...
Back to page topMoped Day is for everyone, not just Wisconsinites. I know people who celebrated in Alaska, Texas, Illinois, and California this year. And it’s spreading – the more people who celebrate and tell their friends, the bigger the holiday will become.
I'd be happy to organize a Jordan rally if I was able to find someplace to store my Vino here in town.
I loved taking trips to the M and on the back roads around it. Those can be fun trips, especially on a warm summer night just as the sun is setting. Wonderful!
