A little birdie pointed out the impact of a delete-all amendment on House File 1349. It's the Minnesota House of Representatives omnibus tax bill.

Last night, I filed both my state and federal tax returns. In the three years that I’ve done my own taxes (since I moved out of my parents house and they completed my tax form for me), I have never been done this early. In fact, I remember one year filing the returns electronically at 5 p.m. April 15 – the absolute last moment allowed.

An auditor will be in Jordan this week, checking out the city's finances.

This is standard procedure for the city, which completes an annual audit. Finance Director Tom Nikunen plans to meet with the auditor on Thursday and Friday.

The cost of the audit is roughly $28,000, Nikunen said tonight.
