WebGreat deal on clothesJune 6, 2008 - 1:15pm — Mathias BadenHere's a great deal on sportswear: www.saverfreak.com. Every Friday, there's a new deal on something cool from one of Southwest Newspapers' advertisers. Check it out. Find the latest pollsMay 19, 2008 - 2:48pm — Mathias BadenVote on the latest Web site polls, including rating the Jordan City Council, the Scott County Board, and commissioners Joe Wagner and Bob Vogel. To find the polls, go to the News scroll-down menu above and then click on the Polls section. Or to make it easy on you, here's a link: http://www.jordannews.com/taxonomy/term/7/9. Please keep in mind that these are unscientific polls done by your local newspaper. They are purely for conversational purposes. Feel free to comment below the polls. Are you a SaverFreak?May 2, 2008 - 1:05pm — Mathias BadenAre you a SaverFreak? Southwest Newspapers' new SaverFreak coupon Web site is up and running today. Check out the freakishly awesome, money-saving deal that is running on the site for the next week. Go to www.saverfreak.com for a new deal every Friday -- and tell your friends. Local advertisers, if you have an extremely low-priced coupon that you'd like to advertise on the new Web site, contact Nancy Etzel at netzel@swpub.com or 952-345-6572. What my ballplayers think of meApril 25, 2008 - 2:50pm — Mathias BadenI've been goofing around on Facebook for a few months, making "friends" (who are really already my friends, or else they're randomly long-lost acquaintances) and such. It's a time waster, for the most part. But I was feeling a bit down today (finances can be a struggle), and when I took a break to go to Facebook, I got the pick-me-up I needed. JI isn't just a weekly paper -- get updatesApril 11, 2008 - 5:45am — Mathias BadenIn case you haven't noticed, your local newspaper isn't merely weekly reading material anymore. The Jordan Independent's Web site, www.jordannews.com, offers stories, blogs, forums, event listings, and much more. Much of the Web site is updated on a daily basis, including weekends and overnight. Throughout each week, the JI staff is gathering material for the print edition of the newspaper. Reporters don't always start work at 9 a.m. and end the day at 5 p.m., and they avoid the stress of leaving all of their work until the last moment. Hey, we're at Celebrate JordanApril 6, 2008 - 11:00am — Mathias BadenHey all, Brandon Otte and I are at Celebrate Jordan from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today. We'll be embarking on our maiden voyage as a live online TV station, so check back shortly. You should see the broadcast on the front page of the Web site once we begin. If you're heading to Celebrate Jordan, the annual business fair in town, feel free to stop by and get in front of our camera. Have fun! Web cams are awesomeMarch 13, 2008 - 10:36am — BrandonI recently got excited about live Web cams, and I decided to check out some places I’ve visited that show live shots: Help finding what you're looking forDecember 21, 2007 - 11:46am — Mathias BadenFor the past few days, since Southwest Newspapers has changed over to a newly redesigned Web site for the Jordan Independent, one of the items listed as most recent popular content was "Can't find what you're looking for?" If you need any assistance, feel free to call 952-492-2224. Or comment below this blog for specific answers to your questions. Hope you like the new site. Hiding behind screen names is fair game onlineNovember 7, 2007 - 12:24pm — Mathias BadenVarious users of this Web site have openly questioned other users about their identities. This kind of public criticism ought to stop. |
