When Jordan Elementary School hosted the Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce coffee hour last week, it was a chance to showcase their new SMART boards.
The boards were installed over the holiday break, and new School Board Member Sheila Bauer, who was instrumental in raising the funds for the boards as part of the Parents Taking Action (PTA) organization, demonstrated the technology during the coffee hour.
“The community was just wowed,” Board Member Deb Pauly said.
The Jordan School Board approved connecting the district's computers with a fiber optic network being installed throughout Scott County.
Jordan School Board Member Joe Benko reported during the board’s Sept. 10 meeting on a school board convention he attended.
Our phones are on the fritz today. Right now things seem to be working, but they’ve come and gone without warning once or twice so far today. I’m hoping it doesn’t happen again, though.
The Jordan School Board voted to allow Community Education Director Brenda Lieske to investigate new options for the board meeting sound system.
Sometimes watches are more trouble than they’re worth – like today, for instance. I’ve glanced at my watch a couple of times recently, only to find that I didn’t change the date.
A few weeks ago, I bought a new computer – an iMac. I haven’t put many miles on it yet, because I still need to buy a few programs for it. But I was playing around with it the other night and I came across the coolest built-in program I have ever seen.
I love taking pictures. When I was in college, I took a class called basic photography. Each student was required to provide his or her own 35-mm camera. I used one that was made before I was even born, and only half of the pictures I took that semester were even usable for the class. I still loved it.
