Earlier this weekend, I was reading an article online about expectations for the weekend box office. The article mentioned that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was (which is today) had become something of a cash cow for movie theaters, because most students have the day off (including Jordan’s students).

I came to work with a hangover this morning, but not the kind that you get from drinking too much. No, I came to work this morning with a vacation hangover.

I look at the calendar now and then, and the displays in the stores are more than enough of a reminder. I know it really is Valentine’s Day today, but I guess I forgot this morning.

A number of Jordan area bars and restaurants provided free soft drinks for designated drivers on New Year's eve and day. They deserve to be recognized for making an effort to keep the roads safe on the advent of 2007.

Today, my family had its final Christmas celebration of the year. I'm taking a break to write about the rousing game of Balderdash we just completed.

I finished third.

I'm having the least stressful Christmas vacation of my life. Since I left your local newspaper office on Dec. 20, I:
