Jordan's was one of at least six fire departments on hand to control a grass fire that flared up in Shakopee in the area of Dean's Lake this afternoon.

The Jordan Area Youth Baseball Association has changed the times for the tournament team tryouts.
The new time for the 10- to 12-year-olds’ tryouts is from while the tryouts for the 13- to 14-year-olds are from to 6:30 p.m. Both will take place on Saturday, April 18, on Field 2, behind the football
field.
Participants will be called no later than 8 p.m., Sunday, April 19, with notification of cuts.
CenterPoint Energy reminds customers that Cold Weather Rule protection ends after April 15. Thousands of CenterPoint Energy customers, who owe a combined $58 million in past-due natural gas bills, are subject to having their natural gas service disconnected. The Minnesota Cold Weather Rule (CWR) protects residential customers having difficulty paying their natural gas bill from having their natural gas service disconnected from October 15 through April 15. It does not completely stop disconnection but it does provide qualified customers extra protection as defined in the rule.
