House primary race seems not so heated

Shannon Fiecke of the Shakopee Valley News reports:

Two years ago, Minnesota state Rep. Mark Buesgens safely fended off an inner-party challenge, garnering 78 percent of 1,179 votes, but his large win came only after a lot of sweat on both sides of the ticket.

So when New Market Township resident Tom Rees, a former three-term legislator, filed for the Republican primary again this summer against Buesgens, the endorsed candidate for House District 35B, some expected a repeat of 2006.

Thus far, however, the campaigning has been fairly quiet.

2nd Annual Trav'lin for Trav' Memorial/Benefit Bike Run/Hog Roast

In the summer of 2007, our family tragically lost two family members. We decided to organize a Bike Run/Hog Roast to help the parents of Travis & Josh Conrady through and extremely difficult time.

Trav'lin' for Trav was supposed to be a one time event to benefit a family in need. However, we have received so much positive feedback and an outpouring of generosity, that we decided to do it again. Hopefully making this an annual event. Travis was afflicted with Cerebral Palsy since birth, therefore, all proceeds from this bike run will be donated to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
