The Jordan Brewers conclude their seven-game homestand with a 7:30 p.m. game against Arlington tonight at the Mini-Met.

The filing period for federal, state, judicial and some locally elected offices begins Tuesday.

Candidates may file July 1 until 5 pm. July 15. The last day for withdrawal is July 17.

The place for filing for federal office is at the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office in St. Paul. Those seeking election to state office may file in the county they live in.

I'm dreaming of dental bliss that I once had.

As a child, my teeth were perfect-o. Never a cavity. No toothaches. No worries about what I should or shouldn't eat or drink. My teeth grew so strong that when a batter line drove a softball into my face while I was on the pitcher's mound, I needed stitches in my lip but nothing happened to my teeth. I must have been great with the toothbrush, because I never had to floss and I always got a good review from the dentist.

Seventy years ago, the second town baseball team in Jordan was nicknamed the Cubs.

Verdelle Seidel, 71, of Prior Lake, was welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord on the morning of June 29, 2008.

The Jordan Brewers improved to 21-6 on the season when they defeated St. Benedict's 7-6 on Sunday, June 29 as part of Baseball Day in Jordan.

As part of Jordan's Baseball Day on Sunday, June 29, the Jordan American Legion and the Jordan Millers won their games.

The Legion team defeated Ely 12-3 while the Millers defeated the Jordan Alers 5-4.
